Phoenix: Day 1

Our travel went very well. Barry and I had several packing and to-do lists and we checked them twice... feeling really prepared for the trip... with our six pieces of luggage (which includes 1 large, 1 garment, 2 small, 1 camera, and 1 laptop). My sister and Chris picked us up and we all went to breakfast at Denny's then made our way to the airport. Nice and early arrival there so we had a beer and relaxed. Flights went very smoothly. Cincinnati is a nice airport... full of shops and food and pretty easy layout... no internet like Allentown though. :)
Hotel we're staying at is right near the airport and not a very nice part of town... lots of what look like "rent by the hour" rooms around the area, pawn shops, and adult stores... with some decent hotels (like this Days Inn and Ramada and such) mixed in. I wouldn't really recommend the area I guess... but from the inside of the hotel all feels fine. Extra security around the hotel and at the Circle-K makes one wonder though.
It's 8:30am here now and we slept in... I woke up a little early and am letting Barry get some more sleep (he was up earlier unable to sleep around 5am -- which is 7am our body time, which is his normal wake-up). Our plans: breakfast, then hit the road to see Sedona. I saw some beautiful pictures in a brochure last night and said "I want to see that"... Barry said, "That's why we're going through Sedona." Cool. I'm excited... the weather is absolutely gorgeous out!
