And on the seventh day he rested... he rested for it was good... and because he needed the rest darn-it!
Spent the day on Friday cleaning and getting ready for the party... Barry came over and we picked up my white tux... Carolyn arrived and we began the process of making my house into Absolut White... Kim arrived later on in the evening. We all took a break and went out to the bar -- I was feeling very positive that all would be done in time.
Saturday, we slept in a bit (hungover a bit)... then we spent a frantic 7 hours completing the transformation of my house. Barry and I got the beer/soda... Car #1 and car #2 were dispatched to get additional last minute alcohol and decoration things. All came together so well in the end. The first guests arrived at about 6:45, dressed all in white... we were so happy! People were going to get the theme and play along and it was going to be awesome! I ran upstairs to quickly shower and change into my white tux and white top-hat. When I came back down, all of the finishing touches had been completed...
The party was ABSO-f'ing-LUTELY AMAZING...
Final tallies:
I have a lot of pictures... which I will be processing in the next couple days to get uploaded...
Spent today cleaning and resting... Kim, Barry, and I did a bunch of the initial cleaning (aka bottle and garbage collection) and then ate lunch. Barry and I rested (while watching the football game) and slept until almost 6. Then we finished the remaining "necessary" things (like putting the tent and arch away). There is still much to be done to reset the house back to normal... but I'm in no rush. The excitement of having such a wonderful party will take many days to wear off... and since I put so much into the party, I kind-of expect the clean-up process to take a few days as well. (Not to mention the need to steam-clean my rugs and how I want to put everything back neater than before [IOW: do a "Clean Sweep" of my crap].)
I couldn't have done the party without the help (and love) of my friends...
Discussions / thoughts about next year's Winterfest are already beginning... I have a feeling that this one is going to be talked about (among my friends) for quite some time. I'm not evening thinking of trying to "top" this party... if I can simply match it, I will be thrilled beyond anything... if we do top it yet again, I'm thinking I will need to get on the market to buy a bigger house. :)

Final tallies:
- Attendees: 84 (there may have been a few more than that [friends-of-friends], 84 is the definite amount based on the guest list and who I remember showing up)
- Bottles of vodka: 10
- Bottles of wine: 7
- Cases of beer/malted bev: 7
- Cases of soda/water: 5
- White sheets (twin): 40
- Cost: Priceless... well, ok, we did approx tally it, even though I said I didn't want to... I wish I hadn't, LOL... but seriously, although more than last year, it still was about what I expected based on the number in attendance.

- Kim: For your amazing ideas, and determination to see them come to fruition; your hard work and flair; your great mixology; your music; your vision (and dealing with trying to get me to see the vision). And so many other things that I just can't express or remember...
- Barry: For staying by my side and supporting me; for holding me when I needed holding and letting me go when I needed to mingle; for your strength (both physical and emotionally); for running a lot behind-the-scene during the party that helped make things flow. More than words hun!
- Lee: For helping me stay sane on Friday (when my procrastination finally caught up to me); for your assistance with setup and for going all-out with the theme; and for putting up with the mess in the house.
- Carolyn: For being there for setup; your friendship and smile; and being car #2.
- Amy: For your support and "grounding" when I was nervous and freaking out; for the beautiful flowers and wonderful food; for the smiles and the Shannan/Jude memorial square.
- Marea & Chris: For picking up the pizza and some ice; for sharing your decorations.
- Joe: For the use of the tent (aka smokers lounge)
- For everyone who attended... it obviously wouldn't be a party without such great guests!
