Friday work was very quiet, but started doing some new programming just before the end of the day... not sure why that always seems to happen -- I get my best ideas just when I should be packing things up.

As soon as I got home, I finished packing for the trip to Harrisburg (which we would be leaving very early for on Saturday). Then Barry and I sat around and awaited the arrival of Sean & Jen... We met them at their hotel... and also met up with Patrick there... and the five of us drove down to Celtic Classic to enjoy the evening.

Celtic Classic did not disappoint this year... Lots of men in kilts, good food, kilts, nice music, kilted bagpipers, good beer, and (did I mention) sexy kilted men.

It was great hanging out with Sean & Jen -- haven't seen them in so long... but even so, we clicked the moment we all saw each other again and didn't feel at all like we hadn't talked in months. I guess that happens when you know someone since Kindergarten.

Bunch of other friends (old Scouting friends and their family) were coming into town on Saturday to join Sean & Jen. It's sad that I wasn't able to see them... but I hope they enjoyed the festival. I left my mugs at the hotel for Sean & Jen to use on Saturday... it was a little humorous asking the girl at the counter if there was a place I could wash them out and then giving them to her to hold. It must have taken longer than I thought because as I was leaving, Sean & Jen pulled up. (Barry, Patrick, & I had left early because Barry and I needed to get to sleep so we could wake-up early.)

I woke up before the alarm on Saturday morning and got us moving. We got to the ImPAct conference and checked into the Hilton. It was a very nice room -- we lucked out that they had one ready for us already (at 9am). Had a little continental breakfast and then the conference began. There were several good speakers, a lot of good "sharing of best practices", and good panel discussions. Barry was not feeling well (coughing like crazy) and spent the day in the room. I felt bad for him feeling so ill. I'm really glad he came with me to give me support and spend the weekend with me. It would have been very lonely there without him... not to mention we were the only people from the Lehigh Valley that attended Saturday afternoon and evening.

We had planned for a night-out-on-the-town to check out Harrisburg's gay bar(s)... but because we were both sick and tired, we just went to the hotel bar for a nightcap and then to bed.

Our drive home Sunday seemed to take forever... we were both so sleepy. Got home and unpacked. Barry wanted nothing but to rest and watch TV... I went off to Celtic Classic to spend some more time with Shandra & Chris (friends in from Ohio) and to hang with Amy and Kim and all the kilted-goodness that makes Celtic Classic so wonderful. Chris had gotten an Amerikilt and looked mighty-fine in it! It was almost painful to look at him in it and know that I could look but not touch (he was uber-hot in the kilt!)... LOL! So I hadn't known that Amerikilt had a booth this year (hadn't seen it Friday)... I was very excited and decided that I must get a new one (since my last Amerikilt shrunk 3 sizes because I washed it wrong -- hot water and dryer, duh!)... I got a nice black one... very nice! Hopefully pics will come eventually, but no one had a camera with them last night... so not sure when I'll get a picture of me in it... perhaps I'll have to take a couple.

I then proceeded to drink, and drink, and drink. And forgot to eat... and just drank more and more... and didn't know when to stop. Don't remember much... Barry called (Edit because I had the facts wrong) my friends called Barry to let him know I was drunk and could not drive... he decided to come and pick me up. His friend drove him over and then Barry drove us home in my car. I'm very upset at myself for loosing control of my drinking... Every time I do that I say I won't do it again... and I usually am very good for several months or so... I shouldn't have drunk so much because I knew that I was supposed to drive home afterward. I got caught-up in the good times of Celtic Classic and just kept drinking. I figured one more wouldn't hurt... but on an empty stomach, it did... and once I got to that point (probably around 4pm or so) I was no longer making conscious decisions. *sigh*

Oh well... that's out of my system now for the next couple months... perhaps this time is the last time... perhaps I have learned now... perhaps I can prevent future irresponsible drinking. I hope so. *sigh & a sad laugh at knowing that it probably won't be*
