Life has no umpires...
Aug. 10th, 2005 11:55 pmWhat do you do when you're playing ball and the opponent takes the ball and stands there telling you how lousy you are at playing and jeering at you to throw the ball (which he still holds). All you can do is stand there... hoping that the other player still wants to continue the game... begging him to put the ball into play.
Imagine it is the best game of your life... you love the game and the opponent... and you are trying everything you can while you stand on the pitcher's mound to get the game going again... everything in your power to get that ball back in play. The longer the game goes without playing the harder it gets to stand there... you just want to walk off the field because it appears that the other player doesn't want to play anymore or else he would do something, anything... any positive look or small token that would show he still wants to play could make you stand and wait longer and work harder.
