Out late...
Oct. 22nd, 2004 03:37 amOut late... As you can probably tell by the time stamp...
Worked out at the gym (finally)... and felt like celebrating at the Bethlehem Brew Works (BBW)... so I celebrated with cheese fries and a couple beers... LOL... OMG I will never lose weight like this. I weighed in at the gym at 226... well, at least I haven't gained any.
So I called Amy on my way to the BBW... I haven't seen her in AGES... it was nice to catch up. Also saw Deirdre and Emily there. It was good to hang out with all them... I even chatted with a stranger guy when Amy went to the restroom... got double points for that. LOL OK, so he initiated the conversation, but I still get points for talking with a stranger.
After the cheese fries, Amy and I caught-up on life that we haven't chatted about in ages... then we went downstairs (the Steelgaarden) to say goodnight to the others. I was going to finally check out Amy's apartment after all her new changes (paint, Henry VIX bed, etc)... but we all got to chatting... and then I ended up not leaving and Amy saying good-bye to me. I stayed and chatted with Jeff (and Shawn and Dierdre and Emily) for a few more hours... and bought a few more rounds. Jeff was so incredibly nice... he was very accepting of me... and although not gay, was completely friendly with me and chatty-cathy with me... and we hit it off very well. He even said he would go to Mardi Gras... he's so nice... I hope he does.
Well... I'm crashing down after my drunken buzz... and I need to sleep... glad I didn't have that "one more beer"...

* . * . * hungover * . * . *
Ugh... frigg'n crimonies... Thank god I didn't have that "one more beer"... I've got a headache this big *hands out to sides of head* and it's got [Advil] written all over it. *sips coke* (Advil and a coke: my hangover cure)
So I'm going to work from home until this hangover passes... but my frigg'n work mouse is sticky!?! Oh... yeah... spilled soda... thank goodness for LJ while drunk. (actually, I really wasn't that drunk... but just stupid enough to keep spilling my soda... argh!)
This is what I get for drinking about 6 or 8 beers with only cheese fries for dinner after dehydrating myself by working out.
I'm such a sucker for social interaction that I will sit and drink beers (and buy rounds) just because I enjoy the conversation and the cute men that I'm talking too. "Jeff wasn't gay, Paul" I know... I know...
So, one final thing about this Jeff guy from last night... he and I were talking and closed the bar together (yes everyone else left) ... he related to me how he has a really hard time picking up women... he said they don't find him attractive, yet he has gay men hit on him all the time. Well, I explained to him that he's an ideal "bear" (hairy, full beard, dark hair, built like a football player, wearing a hoodie & jeans & black sneakers, cute eyes, etc). Men who like "men" like that... he was flattered and I may have even got him to blush at one point. I don't think he ever had a gay guy explain "why" they were actually attracted to him. It felt good to be myself (gay) all night and have people SO accepting, even the strangers that I met. I don't know why this still surprises me... I guess there will come a point when I'm no longer surprised by this... just after being closeted for 26 years and out for only 5, I shouldn't be so hard on myself for still being nervous about the initial "err, well, I'm gay" comment.
in other news... *sound of ticker-tape machine*...
I can't wait to go camping this weekend and spend the day/night with Lee. Should be fun...
I need to go shopping to get my food for the pot-luck dinner...
And Lee made cookies! yum... *cookie monster impression* cookie! COOKIE!
OH... and speaking of this weekend... We got the schedule of events for the weekend in the email today. I'm just happily reading along when I hit:
OK... gotta go... Hangover starting to break... feeling a bit more energetic and ready to work.

• Heidi-Ho's Ladder Hose `n Weiner toss - Sat. 11pm - discoOH Jeez!! I'm famous... and I guess I'm dressing up in drag Saturday night?! WTF... No one asked... BUT... in the same breath... I'm SO excited! I've just been indirectly asked to hostess an event at the Woods... my first official responsibility and gig as "Heidi-Ho". So COOL! LOL I wonder what outfit I'll wear? AND I'm just starting to grow in my goatee?! Ugh... Heidi doesn't have a goatee... Oh NO! I don't want to cut off my goatee... it's been seven days... (I'll post a status picture soon)... Perhaps Heidi will just be "growing in some fur for winter"... that's what I tell people, I guess Heidi can just tell people that as well.
OK... gotta go... Hangover starting to break... feeling a bit more energetic and ready to work.
Goatee... Day 7
Oct. 22nd, 2004 10:16 amOK... so today is officially one week since I last shaved my chin...
( Here's the pictures... )
So sad... I know...
Most of you guys out there could have this in two days... my facial hair just DOES NOT fill in... *whimper* *jealous stare and fondling of your goatee* (if you have one)
"the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence"... I know.
Or actually... today, it should be...
"the hair is always nicer on the other guy's face" ;)

Mystery Gift... The saga continues...
Oct. 22nd, 2004 12:37 pmOK, so the original posting was getting long and soon will flip to the archives... so I figured I'd start a new posting...
The quest for me to figure out the mystery gift that my friends, Amy & Meredith, have bought me continues. I can ask one Yes/No question a day until I figure it out and they will respond here with the answer.
( Listing of what I know so far... )
Looking forward to figuring it out.
Feel free to interject thoughts and ideas...
Question 9: Will it fit in a shoebox?

Election Article
Oct. 22nd, 2004 12:50 pmArticle sent to me from a friend in Boston...
Divide seen in voter knowledge
"Supporters of President Bush are less knowledgeable about the president's foreign policy positions and are more likely to be mistaken about factual issues in world affairs than voters who back John F. Kerry, a survey released yesterday indicated."
*praying hands* God, please let Kerry win. Please.

Yet another... "Getting to know me" meme
Oct. 22nd, 2004 10:46 pmOK... so I actually got this in an email, and I'm deciding to make it a meme... I'm adjusting it just a tiny bit to make it fit into a LJ environment... who knows, it probably already went around, but if not, then I'm a pioneer... *snort* Yeah, right...
